JBC
JBC
JBC’s universe is a tangle of symbols mixing the Latin -American Barocco style, Soviet realism, the
cult for icons and paganism in different ways. His themes are aligned with his graphic style that
evoke stained-glass windows with larger-than- life characters portrayed in the most absurd and
trivial situations. The warm and enveloping colors together with the extravagant vegetation are a
reflection of the artist’s imagination, highly focused on the tropics, recalling his frequent travels in
South America. His working supports vary from walls, urban landscapes, wood; in fact all kinds of
objects and surfaces. Since 2013, JBC lives in Montreuil where he has his studio in a communal
artists’ quarter called ICI MONTREUIL.
He totals more than thirty exhibitions.
